Rockland, ME : Police search for driver who fled after Rockland crash Saturday afternoon on August 23, 2014

Police from several communities were looking for the driver of a car that crashed Saturday afternoon. The crash occurred at about 5:30 p.m. on Old County Road between the Rockland Golf Club and Route 17. A witness reported a male wearing a red-and-white striped referee-type shirt and white shorts fleeing after the vehicle crashed into a patch of small trees. The car was a white Subaru Outback with Maine license plates “ORTIZ.” Rockland emergency medical services responded with a fire truck and ambulance but left when no one was found.
