Motorist Killed After Getting Hit By Metra Train In Lake Forest

A motorist was killed after a car was hit by a Milwaukee District-North Line train at approximately 1:30 p.m. Saturday in LakeForest.According to a Metra spokesperson, eyewitnesses reported that the driver was trying to beat the train to a crossing near Old Mill Road and South Waukegan Road.The driver of the car was a 35-year-old male, according to Lake Forest Police.The train involved in the accident was headed to Chicago from Fox Lake. There are no reports of any injuries to anyone on the train.
