Baton Rouge,LA : Police identify motorcycle driver hurt, passenger killed in Florida Boulevard crash on February, Thursday 15th 2018

A passenger on a motorcycle died and the driver was hospitalized Thursday evening after the motorcycle crash into a vehicle on Florida Boulevard, Baton Rouge police spokesman Sgt. Don Coppola Jr. said.

The two people were riding the motorcycle west in the outside lane in the 12400 block of Florida Boulevard around 5 p.m. when a 2005 Buick Century tried turning north onto a service road from the eastbound lane of Florida Boulevard, Coppola said. The motorcycle, a 2005 Yamaha FJR1300, crashed into the passenger rear door of the vehicle and both riders were ejected.

Tiffany Brabham, 29, of Pride, died on the scene, Coppola said. The 31-year-old driver of the motorcycle, who police did not identify, was hospitalized with life threatening injuries. Both riders were wearing helmets.

The 63-year-old man driving the Buick and his two passengers were all wearing seat belts and were not injured, Coppola said.

The crash remains under investigation.
