Eden Prairie, MN : Semi crash in Eden Prairie spills sausages onto freeway on Monday, April 11, 2016
Sausages spilled onto Interstate 94 in Eden Prairie on Monday, slowing traffic for about two hours during rush hour.
A semi carrying the meat products hit an I-94 center median wall, shearing off the side of the trailer and sending the sausage onto the roadway, said Sgt. Tiffani Nielson of the Minnesota State Patrol.
The semi driver blacked out during a medical emergency, Nielson said.
The left lanes of traffic in both directions were closed to allow for cleanup, she said. The lanes were reopened by about 10:30 a.m., she said.
The truck driver wasn’t injured, but was taken to a hospital as a precaution, Nielson said.
The incident happened near the Prairie Center Drive exit in the westbound lane of the interstate.
