Jones County, MS : Two people injured in two-vehicle accident on Highway 84 Keahey Gore Road early Friday morning, August 7th 2015

Two people from Wayne County were injured in a two-vehicle accident on Highway 84 East near Keahey Gore Road early Friday morning, August 7.

At 5:34 a.m., emergency medical responders and rescue units from Powers and M&M Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the accident, which occurred when a Mercedes SL500 collided with a Walters Construction Company dirt hauler.

The male driver and female passenger of the Mercedes were transported to South Central Regional Medical Center with what was believed to be non-life threatening injures.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.

One lane of Highway 84 East remained closed for over an hour as rescue and accident investigation was conducted.
