Chicago, IL : 1 injured in early morning River North car crash on Sunday, 24th March 2024
Some Chicago roads were blocked off and one person was injured following a two-vehicle crash at a heavily trafficked intersection in the city's River North neighborhood.
According to the Chicago Police Department, the crash occurred at approximately 3:39 a.m., in the 600 block of North LaSalle Street.
A Chevy SUV driven by at 25-year-old male was traveling northbound when he struck a Mazda sedan traveling eastbound, police said. The driver of the Chevy was transported to a nearby hospital in stable condition, police said. The driver of the Mazda left the scene following the accident, police added.
According to officials, citations are pending.
Through approximately 7 a.m., yellow police tape could be seen blocking off LaSalle street between Ohio and Ontario streets near the former Rock & Roll McDonald's, located at 600 N. Clark Street.
