Ottawa Lake,MI : Two injured in crash in Tallmadge Township on December, Sunday 24th 2017

Ottawa County Sheriff’s Deputies and firefighters of Tallmadge Township fire rescue responded to a two-vehicle crash involving injuries at the intersection of 8th Avenue and Ironwood Drive in Tallmadge Township of Ottawa County on Sunday, Dec. 24, 2017.

The crash investigation by the Sheriff’s Office shows that vehicle number one, a 2016 Chrysler minivan driven by Janice Lancaster, age 59, of Grand Rapids, was northbound on 8th Ave., and was unable to stop on the snow-covered Ironwood Drive and slid through the stop sight and t-boned and struck vehicle number two, a 2015 Jeep, driven by Ann VanTassel, age 57 of Mears, Michigan.

Vehicle number two had been traveling eastbound on Ironwood Drive and VanTassel was not injured. (Janice) Lancaster was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital by Life Ambulance with a head and chest injury and the backseat passenger Lorraine Lancaster, age 85, was also transported to St. Mary’s Hospital by Life Ambulance with a head injury.

The traffic crash remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office and was submitted by Sgt. Bob Ruster.
