Gainesville, FL : A University of Florida student critically injured in a high speed car crash at Southwest 23rd Terrace On Monday, July 25th, 2016
A University of Florida student who turned 24 years old on Monday was in a hospital in critical condition after crashing a car at a high speed early on his birthday, according to police.
Reynald Ashley Honorat of North Miami Beach was driving a rented Ford Mustang when he crashed in the 2800 block of Southwest 23rd Terrace at 4:18 a.m., the Gainesville Police report said.
Honorat was alone in the vehicle and was going at a high speed on Southwest 23rd Terrace when he lost control at a curve and struck two trees, the report said.
He was taken to a hospital and is in extremely critical condition. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, the GPD report said. Toxicology tests will be conducted.
