Northumberland County Coroner James Kelley has identified the Sunbury woman killed on Saturday in a three-car collision in Mount Carmel Township as Janet E. Mull, 78.

Kelley, in an email, said Deputy Coroner James Gotlob pronounced Mull dead at the scene on Route 54/901 at 6 p.m. Deputy Coroner Gabe DeMarco assisted.

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday morning at 11 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.

Emergency responders were dispatched to the crash at about 4:45 p.m. Two cars were found damaged on the roadway and a third had veered off an embankment, Mount Carmel Township Police Chief Brian Hollenbush said on Saturday.

He confirmed the driver in the car that went off the roadway died at the scene but declined to identify her. A passenger in the car that went over the embankment was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. Four others in a second vehicle were taken to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, all with unknown injuries, Hollenbush said.
