A man was taken to Cape Cod Hospital Thursday after his Ford Focus crashed into a fire hydrant, flipped onto its roof, and then a tree fell on top of the vehicle, Barnstable Fire Chief Frank Pulsifer said.
The crash occurred around 10:12 a.m. near 1279 Mary Dunn Road, Pulsifer said. The driver sustained injuries that were not life-threatening, he said.
A portion of the road was closed for about an hour. The cause of the crash is under investigation by Barnstable police.
