Two people were seriously injured after a single-vehicle crash early Wednesday morning.
Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills firefighters responded to the area of 146 Main St. at 1:44 a.m. Wednesday and found a vehicle with “significant damage,” according to a statement from the department. The vehicle had left the road and struck a tree, said COMM fire Capt. Richard Sargent.

Two people in the car — a man and a woman — had life-threatening injuries. The woman was taken to Cape Cod Hospital, and the man was flown by helicopter to Rhode Island Hospital, according to the statement.

Barnstable police were on scene with an accident reconstruction team and are investigating the cause of the crash, Sargent said.

Sargent was unable to provide any details about the victims' identities, and police didn't provide any further information about the crash on Wednesday.
