One person is critically injured after a crash near downtown Friday night.

The crash happened about 7 p.m. at the intersection of Charleston Boulevard and Maryland Parkway, Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Corey Moon said. At least two vehicles were involved, though it was unclear how many people were in the vehicles and whether anyone else was injured.

The intersection was expected to be closed for a few hours as Metro investigates. It was unclear as of 9 p.m. whether speed or alcohol were factors.
