Bluefield, WV : Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident at Route 52 On Friday, July 29th, 2016
Two people were injured Friday morning after a two-vehicle accident on Route 52 sent a truck careening into a Brushfork business.
Sgt. S.A. Sommers, of the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department, said the collision occurred when the driver of a black, Subaru Outback pulled out in front of a red, Chevrolet pick-up truck that was traveling south on Route 52.
The truck then struck the side of T&N Electric Motor Exchange Inc., Sommers said. Damage to the brick building was visible at the scene of the crash.
Debris from the crash was also strewn alongside Route 52.
The accident occurred shortly before 10 a.m.
Sommers said the driver of the Subaru and the driver of the pick-up truck were both transported to Bluefield Regional Medical Center.
A Yorkshire terrier riding in the Subaru was taken to a nearby dog groomer for safekeeping.
Sommers was assisted with the investigation by Deputy T.A. Lacy.
The Bluefield Rescue Squad and Bluewell Fire Department also responded to the scene.
