Seattle, WA : Suspected DUI crash blocks traffic on Aurora Avenue on Wednesday, 14th March 2018
Both directions of Aurora Avenue North were closed to traffic in the vicinity of North 115th Street on Wednesday after a car reportedly ran into a power pole, according to local agencies.
Seattle police reported at 7:20 p.m. that the man driving the car was arrested for investigation of DUI.
The crash occurred about 3:45 p.m., Seattle police indicated.
The incident initially blocked the southbound lanes, but soon crews closed both directions, according to the Seattle Department of Transportation.
Northbound traffic was cleared about 7:30 p.m. after having earlier been stopped at North 110th Street, while southbound traffic was still being routed away from North 125th Street at 10 p.m., with SDOT estimating another three or four hours before the lanes could be reopened because a City Light crew was repairing power lines downed in the incident.
No one was injured, according to the Seattle Fire Department.
