Woman, 82, dies after Farmingdale car crash in Los Angeles California
An 82-year-old Queens woman was killed early Sunday when she lost control of her car and hit a pole in Farmingdale as she drove home from her job at a West Babylon nursing home, Suffolk police said.
Vera Quashie was taken to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow after she crashed her 2009 Hyundai Accent, where she was pronounced dead, police said. Quashie was on her way home from the Berkshire Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, where she worked as a nurse's aide, her daughter said.
Quashie's daughter, Linda Williams of Rosedale, said her mother enjoyed her job at the nursing home, where she worked for more than 20 years.
