Pedestrian hit and killed in Georgetown County
The South Carolina Highway Patrol say a pedestrian was hit and killed late Saturday night after being struck by a car on Highway 17A in Georgetown County.Officials say the accident occurred around 11:35 p.m. in the area of Highmarket Street.According to troopers, the driver of a 2008 Nissan Altima was traveling south on Highway 17A when they struck a pedestrian wearing dark colored clothing.The pedestrian was killed according to authorities.Troopers say the driver and three other passengers were taking to Georgetown Memorial Hospital.The pedestrian's identification has not been released at this time.This accident remains under investigation with the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
