ORMOND BEACH, FL : 2 sisters from Prince George County among 3 dead in Florida van crash on Monday, 29th March 2021

A van carrying vacationers returning to Maryland crashed on Interstate 95 in central Florida, killing three of the 11 onboard, authorities said.

The dead included a 4-year-old girl and her 19-year-old sister from Glenarden, Maryland, Florida Highway Patrol Lt. Kim Montes said in a news release sent late Sunday. A 37-year-old man from Upper Marlboro, Maryland, was found dead under the van, Montes said.

The van crashed early Sunday near Ormond Beach when it apparently drifted off the road, Montes said. The driver then overcorrected and the van rolled on the road and ended up in a ditch. The impact ripped open the van’s roof, ejecting multiple occupants, who were family and friends returning home from a trip to Orlando.
