PENN TOWNSHIP, MI : 2 extricated, hospitalized after 2-vehicle crash on M-60, near Gards Prairie Road in Penn Township on Monday, 29th April 2019

Police are investigating after a two-car crash on M-60 resulted in both drivers having to be extricated from their vehicles and taken to the hospital Monday afternoon.

The collision happened around 1:41 p.m. on M-60, near Gards Prairie Road in Penn Township, according to a release from the Cass County Sheriff's Office.

A car driven by a 46-year-old Cassopolis man was reportedly headed east on M-60 when he lost control and crossed the center line, bringing the vehicle into oncoming traffic. A 45-year-old Gobles woman driving the second car was unable to avoid the crash.

First responders had to extricate both drivers from their vehicles. They were both taken to the hospital, but police did not provide information on their condition.

Police say both drivers were wearing seat belts, and neither drugs nor alcohol appear to be factors in the crash.
