A 26-year-old Union Grove woman was killed Sunday in a single car crash on Interstate 77 in Yadkin County.
According to an online report on YadkinRipple.com, Julie Evette Singleton died at the scene of the crash, while her husband, Joshuah James Singleton, 28, was injured.
Joshuah Singleton was reportedly driving the vehicle when the crash occurred at 11:18 a.m.
According to reports, the vehicle was headed north when it ran off the right side of the interstate and struck the guardrail near the 82 mile marker. The vehicle then overturned and rolled down an embankment, where it came to rest, according to the report.
Julie Singleton was pronounced dead at the scene, while Joshuah Singleton was transported to Wake Forest Baptist Regional Medical Center. His condition is unknown.
Julie Singleton has two daughters, according to her obituary. She operated Singleton Fitness, a personal training business in Union Grove. A celebration of her life will be held Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. at 264 Tobys Footlog Drive, Union Grove.
