Miami, FL : 2 die in violent crash in Miami-Dade County on Tuesday night, November 22, 2016

Police say two people are dead following a crash that shut down a busy intersection in Miami-Dade County.

The Tuesday night crash killed a 32-year-old woman and an 85-year-old man.

Miami-Dade police Det. Daniel Ferrin told local media it’s not clear what caused the crash involving a sports utility vehicle and a sedan. An investigation continues as police worked late into the night to clear the mangled metal left behind.

Ferrin says a shooting was also reported in the area at the time of the crash but investigators believe it’s unrelated.

Both drivers died at the scene of the crash.
