Bend, OR : A John Day man is dead following a T-bone collision on Sunday,15th April 2018
A John Day man is dead following a T-bone collision Sunday evening on U.S. Highway 20 east of Bend.
At about 5:45 p.m., Kevin Faber was stopped on Hamby Road at a stop sign at the highway in a Mercury Mystique. The accident report by Oregon State Police states he pulled out “suddenly” in front of a westbound Dodge 2500 truck driven by David Rausch of Bend.
The pickup struck the smaller car’s driver side door, killing Faber. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Faber, 55, had a passenger who received non-life threatening injuries. Neither Rausch, 33, nor his 56-year old passenger sustained injuries.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
Highway 20 was closed for about an hour while authorities cleared the scene.
