MERCED COUNTY, CA : Teen killed passenger recovering following rollover crash on Thursday, 28th December 2023

A teenager was killed following a rollover crash in Merced County.

The California Highway Patrol says two teens were driving south on Highway 99 in a 2010 Dodge Charger just south of the Atwater Merced Expressway.

For unknown reasons, officers say the driver left the road and overturned the vehicle near a shoulder on the highway.

CHP says the driver was pronounced dead at the scene and his passenger was taken to the hospital in Modesto.
