13-year-old boy from Tuscaloosa dies following hunting accident.

A 13-year-old boy from Tuscaloosa died Saturday after being shot in a hunting accident in northern Sumter County.

Will May was shot late Saturday afternoon at a hunting club near the north border of Sumter County. He was the son of veterinarian Dr. Guy May and Beverly May and attended Rock Quarry Middle School.Sumter County Sheriff Tyrone Clark said Monday morning that investigators found that a 13-year-old boy was killed in an accidental shooting following a rabbit hunt at the club.

"After the hunt, a group of boys were putting away the guns," Clark said. "They thought the guns were empty and one accidentally went off."
Clark said authorities do not foresee any criminal charges and are treating it as an accident.

Many students and teachers at Rock Quarry Middle School are wearing Auburn University colors today in honor of Will May, who was a big Tigers fan.
Services will be held at First United Methodist Church of Tuscaloosa at 2 p.m. Tuesday with visitation beginning at the church at noon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the "For Fuller Fund" at Children's Hospital in Birmingham.
