Laurelville , OH : Motorcyclist dies after collision with car in Pickaway County on Sunday afternoon July 5 ,2015

A Circleville man died from injuries suffered when a car struck his motorcycle on Rt. 56 in Pickaway County near Laurelville on Sunday afternoon.

The 16-year-old driver of the car also was injured in the crash and was flown to the Wexner Medical Center at Ohio State University. The teen’s name and condition were not released by the Pickaway County sheriff’s office.

William J. McIntyre, 56, was taken to Berger Hospital in Circleville, where he was pronounced dead shortly after the crash.

The sheriff’s office was called at 2:48 p.m. to Rt. 56 just east of the South Perry Road intersection.

McIntyre was eastbound on Rt. 56 when his motorcycle was struck. The sheriff’s office did not provide more details on how the crash occurred.

The crash remains under investigation.
