Rochester, MN : A local woman died on May, Monday, 22nd 2017
A local woman died Monday evening after suffering a medical emergency while behind the wheel while on a frontage road near U.S. Highway 52 in Rochester.
Norma Lee Harmon, 74, of Dennison, was declared dead at the scene by responding authorities just after 5 p.m.
According to Minnesota State Patrol's incident report, Harmon was traveling northbound on a frontage road on the west side of U.S. 52 when she suffered a medical emergency, which was not defined by authorities. She drove through fencing and crossed an exit ramp to 12th Street, then crossed two lanes of traffic on U.S. 52 before colliding with the median barrier.
The car suffered only minor damage and the airbag did not deploy.
Assisting at the scene were Gold Cross, the Rochester Police Department and the Rochester Fire Department.
