BENNINGTON, NE : 1 killed in northern Nebraska car semitrailer crash on Friday, 20th December, 2019

A man died Friday morning when he tried to turn his car onto a highway north of Omaha and was hit by a truck.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office said the crash happened when the driver of a northbound car tried to turn from Blair High Road onto Highway 36. A southbound truck struck the car, killing the driver, Heriberto Martinez-Torres, 38, of Omaha.

The driver of the truck, Dale Laflin, of Orchard, wasn't injured.
