Waterloo, AL : Child injured in Waterloo wreck on Thursday, February 9, 2017
Emergency personnel are working the scene of a wreck at Waterloo School involving three people, officials said.
Reports indicate a woman driver struck an 11-year-old, and then hit Waterloo High School.
Officials at the scene said Air Evac was called to fly the child to a nearby hospital. No information on the child’s identity or medical condition was available.
Information from the scene indicates that when the car hit the building it knocked a post away from an awning, which struck a teacher who was standing outside.
Reports indicate the driver of the car and the teacher were not seriously injured.
Also, the accident broke a natural gas line going to the schools, and crews have been dispatched to repair the leak.
The accident was reported at 4:15 p.m.
