Fort Wayne, IN : Motorcyclist killed in collision with semi on Tuesday, 1st May 2018
A Fort Wayne man died Tuesday after crashing a motorcycle into a semi southwest of Butler, police said.
The DeKalb County Sheriff's Department said Nathaniel Wells of Paulding, Ohio, was driving a semi north in the 4400 block of County Road 59 abut 2:15 p.m. when he started to turn left into a factory driveway.
Wells, 28, told police he did not think a southbound motorcycle was that close and that he had time to turn left. But the motorcycle and semi collided, throwing Michael Hall, 45, from the bike, which caught fire, police said.
Hall was flown by Samaritan helicopter to Parkview Regional Medical Center where he died, police said.
