Mason City, IA : Two receive minor injuries in crash near Mason City on Sunday afternoon, January 1, 2016

Two people received minor injuries in a single-vehicle accident Sunday afternoon southeast of Mason City.

The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office reported that a 1994 Ford Explorer driven by James Raymond Ohlinger, 38, from Bode, went out of control and went into a ditch a little before 5 p.m. at 245th Street and Quail Avenue.

Ohlinger and a passenger, Lindsay Michele Douglas, 37, also of Bode, were transported to Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa by Mason City fire medics. They were treated for minor injuries and released, according to the Sheriff’s Office report.

The accident remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.
