Hudson, N.H : Bicyclist injured, driver of car charged in Hudson crash on Saturday morning, June 4, 2016
Police are reminding drivers to be attentive since there are lots of bicycles on the roads now that warm weather is here, and a crash that injured a rider on Central Street on Saturday morning illustrates the danger.
Hudson police said in a press release that they were called to the area of 216 Central St., about 7:37 a.m., for a report of a collision between a bicycle and a car.
Officers arrived to learn that a 2006 BMW 3-series driven by Jared Wagner, 20, of Amherst, N.H., was making a left turn into the parking lot at 216 Central St., when his vehicle cut in front of a bike ridden by Brent Osborn, 28, of Nashua, according to police.
"The BMW failed to yield to the bicyclist and Mr. Osborn struck the passenger's side front and windshield of the BMW," police in a press release.
Osburn suffered injuries to his lower extremities and was taken by ambulance to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua, according to police.
"The Hudson police want to remind all drivers to be attentive to other types of vehicles while driving," police wrote in a press release. "There are many cyclists on the road now that summer is here. Cyclists are required to follow the rules of the road just as cars do."
