Carver, MA : Three people injured after a head-on collision on Tremont Street by the Wareham town line on Saturday afternoon, November 26, 2016
Three people, including an eight-year-old child, were sent to the hospital after a head-on collision Saturday afternoon on Tremont Street by the Wareham town line, Carver police said.
At 3 p.m., Carver Police, EMS and Fire responded to the scene of the two-car accident on Tremont Street (Rt. 58). Thomas Cooper of Plymouth was driving a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica traveling North on Tremont Street when he failed to negotiate a curve, according to a statement from Carver Police. Cooper crossed over into the South lane and struck a 2005 Chevy Tahoe head-on, causing it to flip over, police said.
Theresa Petersen of Taunton operated the Tahoe which also had an eight-year-old in it, police said. The eight-year-old was flown to Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Rhode Island. Wareham EMS transported Petersen to the same hospital.
Cooper was transported to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth. Neither Petersen nor Cooper appeared to have life threatening injuries, police said.
The crash is under investigation by Officer Michael Wall of the Carver Police Department and the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department Bureau of Criminal Investigation, police said.
