Glendale Heights, IL : One injured when taxi crashes into Glendale Heights home on Monday, December 1, 2014
Glendale Heights, Illinois
Police say one person has been injured and a driver is on the run after a taxi crashed into a home in suburban Chicago.
The Chicago Sun-Times reports police say the driver ran away after the cab went through a wall of the house in Glendale Heights at about 1:10 a.m. Monday.
Bloomingdale Fire Protection District battalion Chief Richard Kurka says a person who was inside the house at the time of the crash got out with minor injuries. He says the person was taken to a hospital for observation.
Kurka says the crash doesn't seem to have damaged any load-bearing walls in the home. The village's building department was called to the scene.
Authorities didn't release details about the taxi or the driver.
