PLACERVILLE, CA : 1 killed head-on crash with bus near Placerville on Wednesday, 2nd January 2019

A pickup truck driver was killed Wednesday afternoon in a head-on crash with a transit bus near Placerville, the California Highway Patrol said.

The truck driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The bus driver suffered minor injuries, CHP said.The crash happened just after 3 p.m. at Pony Express Trail and Gilmore Road in Pollock Pines.

CHP said the truck driver was driving recklessly and going westbound on Pony Express Trail. At the same time, an El Dorado County RT bus was driving eastbound.
