NEW RIVER, AZ : 2 people killed in crash on I-17 in New River on Tuesday, 20th February 2024

Two people died after a rollover crash on Interstate 17 in New River on Tuesday.

It happened around 3 p.m. on the southbound side of the freeway at New River Road, where a driver hit the end of a concrete traffic barrier. The Arizona Department of Public Safety said only one vehicle was involved in the crash.

There were only two people in the vehicle at the time. The passenger was thrown from the car while the driver was still in the seat. DPS said neither wore their seatbelts. Their names haven’t been released.
