PONTOTOC, MS : 21-year-old died in a hit-run accident on Tuesday evening July 15th 2014

The Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating a hit and run accident that claimed the life of a 21-year-old Pontotoc resident.

Patrolman Ray Hall says Lequintray D. Williams was killed in a crash around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of U.S. Highway 278 and Highway 345.

Hall tells that collision caused Williams' SUV to overturn, ejecting him from the vehicle.

He says Williams was taken to a nearby hospital and died from injuries sustained in the crash.

Police are searching for a black Dodge pickup truck that had been traveling south on Highway 345 and now has damage to its right front.
