Bryan, OH : 17-year-old passenger killed in car-SUV crash on State Rt. 15 near this Williams County community on Tuesday, July 26, 2016

A 17-year-old girl was killed when a car and a sport utility vehicle collided Tuesday on State Rt. 15 near this Williams County community, authorities said.

Chanelle Albertson, of Montpelier, Ohio, a passenger in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene in Williams County’s Jefferson Township, according to the Ohio Highway Patrol.

The driver of the car, Warren Robertson, 16, of Toledo, and Maya Taylor, 14, of Montpelier, another passenger in the car, were taken to Bryan Community Hospital and then flown to Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center, where Gibson Burkholder, 15, of Ridgeville Corner, also a passenger in the car, was also taken, according to the patrol’s Defiance post. Gibson Burkholder was listed in critical condition and the other two victims were each in good condition, a hospital spokesman said.

Dawn Courtaway, 47, of Pioneer, Ohio, the driver of the SUV, was taken to Bryan Community Hospital, where she was listed in “stable” condition, according to the patrol.

The Robertson car was driving south on Route 15, north of County Road H, about 6:18 p.m.when for unknown reasons the car crossed the center line and drove into the path of the Courtaway SUV, which was northbound on the state route, troopers said in a written statement released today.

All those involved were wearing seat belts.

The crash occurred about three miles north of Bryan, the county seat, which is about 55 miles west of Toledo.
