Traverse City, MI : Two killed in Wexford County crash on Sunday afternoon, January 8, 2017
A two-vehicle crash in Wexford County claimed the lives of two women.
Speed and poor road conditions contributed to the Sunday afternoon crash on M-37, north of Mesick, near the Manistee River, according to a release from the Wexford County sheriff's department.
Rebecca Quade, 41 of Mesick, was driving south on M-37 when her vehicle crossed the center line of the road and was struck by a northbound vehicle driven by an Irons man, 52, the release states.
Quade was pronounced dead at the scene, as was a backseat passenger in the northbound vehicle, Jacquelyn Ursum, 77 of Irons. Neither woman wore a seat belt, the release stated.
