UNION COUNTY, SC : One dead, two injured after head-on collision on Sunday, 7th February 2021

One person was killed and two others were injured after a crash in Union County.

Highway Patrol troopers said it happened on Whitmire Highway around 4:02 a.m. Sunday.

Officials said a 1992 Chevy pick up truck was traveling south on Whitmire Highway, when they traveled left of center and struck a 2005 Jeep SUV head-on.

The driver of the Chevy pickup truck died at the scene, and a 23-year-old passenger was injured and taken to Spartanburg Regional.

The coroner identified the victim as Charles "Charlie" Harrison, III, 28, of Whitmire.

The driver of the Jeep was injured and also transported by EMS to Spartanburg Regional in Union.
