San Antonio, TX : Three people injured after rollover crash on South Side Thursday morning, May 5, 2016

The northbound lanes of Highway 16 south of Loop 410 have been shut down due to a rollover crash that sent three people to the hospital Thursday morning.

The crash happened around 7:30 a.m. in the 12100 block of Highway 16, according to SAPD officer Trevor Tustison.

Tustison set a woman headed south on the highway lost control of her SUV and crossed the median into oncoming lanes.

The woman slammed into the car headed the opposite direction and then rolled across a grassy median before coming to a stop on the access road of the highway.

The car that she hit came to a stop in the main lanes of Highway 16 and was hit again by third car that was unable to stop before slamming into the vehicle.

When emergency responders arrived the woman was still inside of the SUV and had to be cut out.

All three drivers were taken to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries, Tustison said.
