Enid, OK : A motorcycle and vehicle collision on Friday, November, 24th 2017
Two people were injured Friday evening in a motorcycle and vehicle collision at the intersection of Garriott and Overland Trail, according to an Enid Police Department collision report.
The crash occurred at 5:38 p.m. and sent Kyle Mason, 20, of Ringwood, to Integris Bass Baptist Health Center with a non-incapacitating arm injury, according to the report. His passenger, Mackenzie Farney, 17, of Medford, suffered a possible arm injury but refused treatment at the scene.
Mason told police he was westbound in the 3500 block of West Garriott on a 2016 Triumph 675 in the outside straight-ahead lane and had a green light at the intersection with Overland Trail, according to the report.
Mason said he started through the intersection and did not see a car until it was too late. He said he tried to swerve to miss the car but was unable to avoid the collision. Mason said the car was “going real fast.”
Farney told police she saw they had a green light, according to the report.
Nicholas L. Spray, 19, of Enid, who was driving a 2004 Pontiac GTO, told police he was eastbound in the 3600 block of West Garriott and entered the turn lane, according to the report.
He told police he had a yellow light and the westbound traffic had stopped so he turned left and the motorcycle drove between two vehicles and into his car.
A witness, who was traveling east, told police all the lights were yellow and that the westbound traffic had all stopped. The witness said Spray’s vehicle entered the intersection and was almost through when the car was struck by the motorcycle.
Mason was cited for failure to yield right of way.
