Two dead after stolen vehicle crashes into car on Antelope Road

The California Highway Patrol reports that two people have died Wednesday morning after a stolen pickup crashed into a car.

The crash occurred along westbound Antelope Road at Antelope North Road. A man and a woman have died.

At 8 a.m. westbound Antelope Road was still closed at Roseville Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Officers were searching the area of nearby Eagle Point Way for at least one suspect. The Placer County Sheriff’s Department said that at least one person has been arrested.

The incident began in Auburn where a burglary occurred. The burglary suspects were pursued westbound on Interstate 80.

Somewhere along the way, the burglary suspects took a pickup. The stolen vehicle then got into the collision on Antelope Road.

A sheriff’s deputy has suffered a hand injury.
