Joplin, MO : Carl Junction man killed in crash on Missouri Highway 43 north of Joplin on Monday, May 9, 2016

A Carl Junction man died of injuries suffered in a single-vehicle accident at 8:50 a.m. Monday on Missouri Highway 43, five miles north of Joplin, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Lyle J. Green, 57, was taken to Mercy Hospital Joplin where he was pronounced dead at 9:43 a.m., the state patrol said.

Green was driving a northbound car that ran off the road and rolled several times before striking the face of a cliff. Green was thrown from the vehicle, the patrol said.

• A Neosho man suffered serious injuries in a single-vehicle accident at 4 a.m. Monday on U.S. Highway 60, two miles west of Granby in Newton County, the state patrol said.

Sack Xymon, 24, was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital Joplin and later transported to Mercy Hospital Springfield, the patrol said.

He was driving an eastbound Isuzu Rodeo that ran off the road on a curve and struck a utility pole, throwing him from the vehicle, the patrol said.
