STROUD, OK : An Ardmore man died in a crash on May, Saturday 6th 2017
An Ardmore man died on Saturday when the tread of his vehicle’s tire separated on the Turner Turnpike.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports that Buddy Allen Mitchell, 46, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 9:11 p.m. accident that occurred three miles west of Stroud in Lincoln County.
According to the OHP report, Mitchell was westbound near mile marker 176 when the right rear tire tread of his vehicle separated, causing the vehicle to depart the road to the right. The vehicle rolled approximately three and three-quarters times before coming to rest on the driver’s side. The driver was ejected from the vehicle and came to a rest approximately 120 feet from the vehicle’s resting point.
Mitchell was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The accident is still being investigated by OHP, according to the report.
