Lewiston, ME : Man seriously hurt in Norway crash on Wednesday night, September 21, 2016
Rescue crews used hydraulic equipment to free an Oxford man from his SUV after it slammed into a tree on Crockett Ridge Road on Wednesday night.
Police said Wolfe Raasumaa, 19, lost control of his Ford Bronco and struck a tree at about 6:30 p.m. He was taken by LifeFlight helicopter to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston where he was still being evaluated Wednesday night.
Norway police Officer Jon Lewis said Raasumaa was alert and conscious when rescuers first arrived, but he appeared to be in a lot of pain.
Rescue crews freed Raasumaa from the mangled wreckage and took him to Stephens Memorial Hospital, where the helicopter waited.
The cause of the wreck was still being investigated late Wednesday night, Lewis said.
