Conway,AR : Conway woman killed in Grant County accident on January, Wednesday 17th 2018
A Conway woman was killed in a two-vehicle accident in Grant County Wednesday. According to a preliminary report from the Arkansas State Police, Dorothiea M. Hyde, 62, was southbound on U.S. 167 when she lost control of the 2011 Nissan Sentra on the ice and spun into the path of a tractor-trailer.
Trooper First Class Marshall T. Williams reported that the driver of the tractor-trailer, Romon D. Kendrix of El Dorado, tried to miss the car driven by Hyde and swerved into the right lane. Hyde’s vehicle struck the driver’s side of the tractor-trailer.
Hyde was pronounced dead at the scene by Grant County Coroner Thomas Berchfield. Kendrix, 41, was not injured.
The accident was reported at 10:58 a.m. in the 8000 block of U.S. 167 North and Williams reported that the roads were icy. The death was the sixth recorded on the state’s highways so far this year.
