A man was killed and another person was hurt seriously hurt in a crash on Highway 801 in western Rowan County Sunday night.
Officials say a pick up truck, driven by 20-year-old Jeremy Waller, crossed the center line and ran off the road, striking a tree.
Walker was killed in the crash. Troopers say he wasn't wearing a seat belt and he was ejected.
A passenger, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to the hospital.
It happened just after 8 p.m. near 1995 Highway 801.
Highway Patrol is investigating the accident. Troopers said speed did not appear to be a factor in the crash.
