Syracuse,NY : Oswego County sheriff Sgt. taken to hospital after crash with Redfield snowplow on February, Sunday 4th 2018

An Oswego County sheriff's sergeant was treated at a Syracuse hospital last weekend after he collided with a town of Redfield snowplow, according to sheriff's reports.

Sgt. Timothy J. Brown, 52, was driving a 2015 Ford pickup truck towing an enclosed trailer southwest on county Route 17 in Redfield. As the pickup rounded a curve at 2:52 p.m. Feb. 4, it collided with a 2014 International snowplow registered to the town of Redfield, sheriff's reports said. Both the pickup and trailer were registered to the Oswego County Sheriff's Office, reports said.

Eugene E. Babcock, 69, of 4791 county Route 17 in Redfield, was driving the town snowplow northeast on Route 17 when the crash happened, according to the police report.

"Slippery roads, failure to keep right and oversized vehicle seem to have been contributing factors," the sheriff's report said.

An ambulance took Brown to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse after the crash. Brown is no longer at the hospital, a nursing supervisor said Sunday. It was not clear what day he was released.

A sheriff's deputy said Brown is scheduled to work Monday, but that he could not comment on the accident. He referred all questions to the undersheriff, who was unavailable for comment Sunday night.
