Boone County, MO: 19-year-old woman serious condition in crash on Thursday October 15 2015
A 19-year-old was in serious condition at University Hospital on Thursday after rear-ending a semitrailer earlier that morning. She was released from the hospital over the weekend.
Elizabeth Beeler, of Ashland, was driving north on U.S. 63 near Sturgeon when she collided with the truck, according to a crash report by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Chief Gale Blomenkamp, public information officer for the Boone County Fire Protection District, said firefighters arrived at the scene and found Beeler with her legs pinned under the dashboard. They removed the door of the van and lifted the dashboard off of her. Beeler was then transported by an ambulance to University Hospital.
Beeler and the driver of the semitrailer were the only people involved in the collision. The truck had moderate damage, and Beeler’s Chrysler Town and Country van was totaled.
