VISALIA, CA : Child killed in crash while riding ATV in Visalia on Sunday, 16th April 2023

Deep tire marks and knocked-over trees remain at the scene where a child riding an ATV was struck and killed Sunday afternoon.

Pictures from Visalia Watchdog show how far the truck involved went into the orchards.

"Our hearts go out to the family. This is nothing more than a tragic traffic accident," Sgt. Art Alvarez with the Visalia Police Department says. "It's a traumatic event not only for the family but also for the other party involved."

Alvarez says a Chevrolet truck hit the ATV along West Riggin Avenue in Visalia.

He says the child riding the ATV was pronounced dead at the scene, and the person behind the wheel is cooperating with the investigation.
