A 32-year-old Fort Lauderdale man was killed and a second person injured before dawn Sunday after two vehicles collided in the southbound lanes of Interstate 95 at Palmetto Park Road, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.Marion Jermain Kelly was behind the wheel of a 2001 Lincoln Town Car that was stopped facing west across the southbound lanes of I-95 at 5:41 a.m. when it was hit by a 2009 Mercedes Benz, according to FHP Sgt. Mark Wysocky.
Kelly was pronounced dead at the scene.The driver of the Mercedes, Pierre Ferry Cenatus, 23, of Pompano Beach was seriously injured. He was taken to Delray Medical Center in Delray Beach, Wysocky said.
The crash led to the closure of three southbound lanes and the entrance ramp to I-95 from westbound Palmetto Park Road, FHP said.
